So its Christmas then New year

Christmas break is on. At the least I am no longer required to waste my 1 hour every morning travelling to school. For a shorter time I will not be required to teach subjects that I don't really appreciate, the reports that I never wanted to do and the things that I wanted to feel.  I am now living in an era when everything is happening so fast (Christmas vacation included). As of now I am living in a dilemma on hove to manage my ever precious time. It has become a commodity that it slowly kills me. My deadlines are everywhere and I don't know what to start first.  What's my plan to survive this holidays? Sit in fron to my computer doing my grad school papers maybe? Roam around the campsite. Sleep all I can.

Phenomenology of PEACE

Image
Photocredit to the owner Peace can exist without violence. The presence of violence is not a manifestation of the absence of peace. Peace will always be present, its just being compromised. Violence is sometimes needed for a stable and improving social order. It promotes stability and equity. It helps the oppressed and it educates the oppressor. It breaks barrier and leads away to a better society. Sometimes we need to fight for what is right. Cowering from evil is a form of confirmation. We need to face our social issues head on. We can never attain peace by just standing. As long as there are social inequalities as long as there are oppressor and oppressed, as long as there are criminals as long as there are those who try to destroy the sanity of human civilization. There will never be peace. Yes living to see a world without violence is possible. But could it qualify a world of peace? I believe that True peace is already inside us. We are fighting wars because we are trying ...

THE PROBLEM OF ‘UTANG’ IN FILIPINO CONTEXT: CRITICAL REVIEW ON URBAN SIGNAGES AND PROMPTS

Jerone Avel S. Cansino MAED Social Science Student                                                    Introduction I found those two signages above on google the last one printed on marker is something that I have downloaded from facebook. While the reason of it being uploaded on the world wide web is purely for entertainment purposes, in my opinion it is worth looking at with criticism. Philippines is a country which is composed of a poor majority (lower middle class and the poor) . The problem of debt is like a mouse-maze once trapped into, got into it, going out is somewhat difficult. “69% of Filipinos have no bank accounts” (Taruc, 2015) . In his article published in www.cnnphilippines.com Taruc wote a commentary o...

Bayan o Sarili: A critical review on the Film “Heneral Luna” Jerone Avel S. Cansino MAED Social Science Student Introduction             NATIONALISM AND FREEDOM             It was July 4, 1946 when the Americans gave us our sovereignty. It is the power to exercise our own laws constitution. For the first time, Philippines was at last recognized as a sovereign political entity. We appeared to be the first Malayan republic. Ours is a colorful history. It came from regionalism to centralization and colonization to independence. Our history is a history of bloodshed, sacrifice and tears. Songs were sang poems were recited, trumpets were sounded and at last we became a recognized state exercising our own laws, protecting our own territory and we ourselves running our own government in the light of our own culture. It has been 7 decad...

Another Step

I hear the rivers and birds around. When could I start my walk of fame? Where would I place my only name? The mountains high, the ocean deep. The rivers wide and high the cliffs. The trees stand tall, their root goes deep. I long to reach the highest peaks How could get to that place I still don't know, I still don't know But in this world one thing for sure I will go on. Tips For Aspiring Leaders

There is one thing that I will never ever regret in my life. That I grub the opportunity to be in Kilala ES. I have many things that I should reflect upon. Distance and physical obstacles is one thing. Motivation is another. I have learned that job will always be difficult no matter what. There will be times that you consider stopping your course. Then things will go crazier storms will blow their vilest surges. You will be shaken, you will struggle. You will fall and will crumble into pieces to carried away by the currents. There is nothing that can beat doing for the sake of doing. That moment when you started working for the sake of working. For the accomplishments of goal. Leadership and the kind of community is also critical. Below are the things that I will never ever fail to consider whenever I become a leader. 1. Be a goal oriented leader.  2. Always build a good relationship with everyone. Share your goals and involve everyone in  planning. There is no sweeter ...

Why Lesson Planning Implementation of The Department of Education Here in the Philippines Is Lame?

Image
When a strategy leads to failure what should we do? Early in college years we are bombarded with principles of planning. We are not stupid enough to realize that planning is indeed critical to every success. Without planning there are obscure goals yes we know that principles more than any morons in the department of education can realize (not all of them but I can say that there are! Based on the Memorandums and policies they sign and authors) . We know that if we plan we can create diverse strategies for our diverse learners. Yes we understand that and we care about that more than anything. We understand further that if we plan it will be easier to craft and prepare materials, and assessments. Yes I agree with those! But not to the extent on how it is being implemented to day. Which will I explain as childishly as I can, so as to shed understanding to those high ranking officials who will fail to understand. Policies have their spirit. These are the guiding principles by which t...

Conquered to be Unconquered: A poem Review on Invictus by William Ernest Henley

Conquered to be Unconquered: A poem Review on Invictus by William Ernest Henley Jerone Avel S. Cansino MAED Soc Sci- Student Introduction Lying on a hospital bed after a foot is amputated, living life carrying an illness that he never really wished for. His life is put caught in the middle of a painful past and an obscure future. Henley created an immortal piece. A poem of 16 lines containing 8 syllables each that inspired people for decades. Among those is said to be Nelson Mandela (Britannica, n.d.) who sought refuge to it while being held in prison for 27 on charges of treason and violent insurgency. The man became the first non-white president of South Africa and again he used the poem to rally his people to unite in the 1995 Rugby world cup. The poem was written on 1875 during the reign of Queen Victoria of England. It is the time when Romanticism is given a new life giving away from the rationalistic ideas of the preceding age. Just seeing the words used by the poe...
